William Squire began making locks in the mid 18th century. By the time his son Thomas joined him, his locks were famous enough for the company to be formally incorporated in 1780. Squire is now a global pioneer of top-selling security products for the home, for work and on the move. With a 230-year heritage as an independent family-owned lock manufacturer, Squire are uncompromising in their commitment to innovation, service and performance.
The Squire Stronghold brand of LPCB approved and CEN grade hi-security products is recognised for market leading performance and versatility. All products are designed and manufactured using the latest computer controlled machinery and equipment.
The 65mm LPCB approved range of Stronghold padlocks are enhanced versions of the standard padlocks which meet security rating 3 (SR3) of the new LPS 1654 standard. Under the current regime this is the highest level that any padlock can achieve when tested on its own.
Designed for use in maximum risk situations and in harsh environments these padlocks offer the very best in security. Their weather resistance is enhanced by the improved electrophoretic anti-corrosion finish which has been tested to over 200 hours salt spray, giving extremely good corrosion resistance inside and outside the lock. They feature a hardened steel body, hardened boron steel shackle, 6 pin tumbler mechanism and meet the European CEN Grades 5-6 for padlocks.
